Improving men’s health in South Australia: Recruiting men for a research project on prostate cancer in Adelaide

1

Updated: May 8 by Ashwini Kannan

I am currently embarking on an important project that aims to improve men’s health in South Australia through preventative care. My research is titled “understanding the experiences and perspectives on prostate cancer, of men without prostate cancer”. This study brings to light, the barriers that prevent or facilitators that allow men to adopt positive attitudes towards healthcare.

this study will be conducted by a team of esteemed researchers, Dr. Rasa Ruseckaite, A/prof Sue Evans and Dr. Maggie Kirkman from the Department of Epidemiology and Preventative Medicine at Monash University. This research is highly valuable and would contribute to improving the public health outcomes in South Australia.

as part of this project, I am calling for male volunteers:

•between 40-80 years of age
•with no history of prostate cancer

these volunteers will be invited to take part in a 20 – 50 minute telephone interview, to talk about their thoughts in regards to prostate cancer and healthcare, with a small incentive provided at the end. Adelaide, South Australia
